Programme Overview

The Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) programme at Shri. Dnyandev Limbaji Tambare Samajkary Mahavidyalay, Tagadgaon is a two-year postgraduate degree programme designed to prepare professionally competent and socially responsible social workers.

The programme is affiliated to Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek and is conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of Maharashtra and the New Education Policy (NEP 2020).

The curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge, fieldwork, research, and community engagement, enabling students to address complex social issues effectively.

The MSW programme aims to:

Eligibility for Admission

A candidate seeking admission to the MSW programme must:

  • Have passed a Bachelor’s Degree in any faculty from a recognized university with minimum 40% marks,

    OR

  • Have passed a Post-Graduate Degree from a recognized university.

Field Work & Practicum

Fieldwork is an integral part of the MSW programme and includes:

  • Orientation visits

  • Concurrent fieldwork

  • Rural camp

  • Study tour

  • Internship

  • Block placement (one month after IV semester)

Students are placed in approved agencies and organizations to gain hands-on professional experience under faculty supervision.



Assessment & Evaluation

Student evaluation is based on:

  • Theory examinations

  • Social work practicum

  • Fieldwork reports

  • Dissertation / Research project

  • Viva-voce

Minimum attendance requirements:

  • Classroom: 75%

  • Fieldwork: 90%
